INDORE: Just a few hours after the city police held a press conference to proudly pat it's back for cracking the April 21 and 22 loot and kill spree, two unidentified assailants went on a stabbing spree in city's Lasudiya area on Sunday late night.
The stabbing spree by two motorbike borne youths inflicted injuries to at least 5 persons. Although senior Indore East cops, including additional SP Rajesh Sahay and Lasudiya police station in-charge PS Ranawat tried to downplay the incident by maintaining that number of injured was just 3.
The two assailants who perhaps were in an inebriated state stabbed passers by on road between Niranjabpur crossing, Scheme 114 and Scheme 78 between 11.40 pm to 11.55 pm. The injured, included two teenagers.
All the injured, however, were stated out of danger.
The incident comes eight days after an aspiring doctor was stabbed to death and two others were injured in a similar stabbing spree at a petrol pump in Mhow Naka locality of West Indore.
Four youths were later arrested in connection with the April 17 late evening incident.
The Sunday night stabbing in Lasudiya area also exposes the tall claims of city police which has arrested several goons as part of the crackdown against goons in the wake of April 17 stabbing.
On Sunday evening only, the Indore DIG Rakesh Gupta had held a press conference to boast about the cracking of April 21 and 22 loot and killing spree of Indore and Ujjain with arrest of two youngsters.
